Evelyn Berry is a poet and editor from Aiken, South Carolina, now living in Columbia, where she works as a museum educational specialist and freelance editor. She is the author of Grief Slut (Sundress Publications, 2024) and the chapbook Buggery (Bateau Press, 2020), winner of the BOOM Chapbook Prize, as well as the young adult novel Heathens and Liars of Lickskillet County (PRA Publishing, 2016). She received a 2023 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowship in Poetry, along with the Emrys Poetry Prize, the Broad River Prize for Prose, and the Dr. Linda Veldheer Memorial Prize. Her work makes visible the lives of transgender people in the American South.
